1. This time around, Conductor, a digital marketing platform focused on search engine optimization, has been scooped up by coworking giant WeWork. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. “Conductor joining WeWork is a validation of everything we’ve all been working towards — showing businesses how to use their power to help customers solve problems, make decisions, and find solutions,” remarked Scott Besmernik, cofounder and CEO of Conductor. Conductor will continue to operate as an independent brand with Bermernik remaining at the helm.
Facebook’s news-feed changes have already killed LittleThings and Cox Media-owned publisher Rare and are threatening other viral ones. But their knock-on effects are expected to reverberate past the publishers themselves to the companies that supported and enabled Facebook strategies that are ending.
Net sales for the fourth quarter at Abercrombie & Fitch Co. were 1.193 billion dollars, up 15 percent from last year, with comparable sales up 9 percent. The company said, additional week in fiscal 2017 and changes in foreign currency exchange rates benefited fourth quarter net sales by approximately 4 percent and 3 percent, respectively.
