Decoded Fashion, the world’s leading global events series connecting fashion and retail with new tech, and TOPSHOP, the pioneering fashion brand known for its design collaborations with industry leaders including Christopher Kane and Kate Moss, are partnering for the first time. Together they are creating an opportunity for founders, developers and startup teams to be connected with a brand at the forefront of innovation in the fashion industry.
The competition, officially being dubbed the TOPSHOP Challenge, is seeking innovative startups and entrepreneurs who can pitch ideas on how to use their technology in a way which will enhance the shopping experience for TOPSHOP customers, both in-store and online, whilst proving originality within their brand concept and design.
Entrants will be asked to pitch a solution focusing on how to truly deliver “fast fashion” in the age of immediacy. The key questions posed by TOPSHOP are:
1. How can TOPSHOP keep pace with consumers’ changing expectations and bring products to consumers in the way they expect in a world of instant gratification?
2. What tools should TOPSHOP (or their partners) work with to execute a truly forward thinking consumer experience?
The top five ideas will be shortlisted by Decoded Fashion and judged live by TOPSHOP on Wednesday, May 18 at the Decoded Fashion's London Summit. Judges include: Sheena Sauvaire, Global Marketing and Communications Director, TOPSHOP; Lou Ashton, Head of Digital, TOPSHOP; Alistair Allan, Head of Digital Marketing, TOPSHOP and Sophie Trinder, Digital Engagement and Partnerships Manager, TOPSHOP, with further judges to be announced.
The winner will be awarded the opportunity to meet with the TOPSHOP team to further develop their concept. This will include a lunch with the judges and other creative leaders, with whom they can learn from.
Those wishing to participate in the competition have until Friday, April 22 to pitch their ideas and can do so by filling out a form on the official TOPSHOP Challenge page.
